The Advent Calendar For Crafters

* The advent calendar for crafters is a sponsored post. For more information, check out my disclaimer.

Over the past few years, advent calendars have really evolved from little chocolates behind doors, to so many different things, including beauty items, socks and even beers. Make! The Lakes have come up with a new concept and its one that I’m very excited to share with you. But firstly, lets find out a bit more about the business.

Who are Make! The Lakes

Make! The Lakes are a creative business based in the Cumbrian Lake District. They offer events and retreats which take place in beautiful surroundings and give guests an opportunity to escape from everyday life. Here, you can immerse yourself in various different creative projects and make new friends too.

Whilst Covid-19 has unfortunately postponed these events, all is not lost. You can order creative kits from there website and make them at home. Also on the website, you can pre-order their advent calendar.

The Advent Calendar For Crafters

This advent calendar is great because it lets you “craft-down” the days until Christmas. Made up of a box with 24 envelops inside, each one contains the instructions and materials needed for that step. Create each of the steps over the days and you end up making 5 festive projects in that time. The beautiful box it comes in, even means that you have somewhere to store your finished projects after Christmas.

What You Need To Know

Make! The Lakes advent calendar retails at £40 and is available to pre-order here. The price includes UK Postage and if you are local to postcode CA18, get in touch with them as you may qualify for local delivery instead. Shipping will begin in early November to allow delivery in advance of starting the projects in December. The envelopes contain everything you will need except a pair of scissors and a couple of other household items. This advent calendar is not recommended for children under 7 years old. However, with supervision, can be completed by over 7’s. Don’t forget to check out their website shop , where there are various other kits which you might also be interested in.

Overall

I think this is not only a great concept, but also really good value for money. Ultimately, I love the idea of being supplied with all the things you need to create something. This is so much better than just being given a ready made product. The whole concept really appeals to me. Let’s set the scene. Snuggled down on the sofa, with a Christmas movie in the background. Meanwhile my hands are getting creative with the project of the day. It sounds perfect to me.

  6. Ohh! This sounds fun to do. 😊💕 I agree with what you said that, it’s really something if you get to make one thing instead of it just being handed to you. And besides, the accomplishment you feel when you’ve built something is just satisfying sometimes 😊 thanks for sharing!
